मैदे के शरीर वाले लोगों ने बाघों को अपने जैसा परजीवी बना डाला है और एक मैदा साहस का व्यापार करने के लिए अपनी जेब में बाघ का गू लिए जंगलों में भटक रहा है। एक सॉफ्टवेयर इंजीनियर को गूगल में नौकरी मिलती है, सिर में माउस की क्लिक-क्लिक गूँजने लगती है, हर धातुई आवाज के साथ एक चिंगारी छू जाने की जलन होती है जो कॉर्पोरेट दास बन जाने की निशानी है। प्राइमरी स्कूल के एक ओबीसी और एक मुसहर दोस्त की मुलाक़ात बीसियों साल बाद एक विवाह में होती है जहाँ एक कछुआ समाज को अपनी पीठ पर लादे घूम रहा है। यूनिवर्सिटी में एक प्रगतिशील लड़की है जिसे बाइक की टंकी देखकर हंसी आती है, एक गेरूआधारी लड़का है जो लेडीज़ पर्स देखकर सुध-बुध भूल जाता है लेकिन इसी एक बिंदु पर उनके विपरीत विचारों के हृदय मिलते हैं। एक व्हाटसैप अंकल के बच्चे, बाप के बदल जाने से इस कदर सदमे में हैं कि हमेशा के लिए घर छोड़ जाते हैं। भाषा बहुत दिनों तक मकड़ी की तरह जाला लगाकर इंतज़ार करती रही। एक के बाद एक “न्यू इंडिया” के जंगल, कारपोरेट के टॉवर, गाँव, यूनिवर्सिटी और रेलवे स्टेशन आकर फँसे तब जाकर यह कथा-संग्रह बना।
