Wandering Through Landour
‘In winter, when snow covers the higher ranges, the Himalayan bears come to lower altitudes in search of food. Sometimes they forage in fields and because they are short-sighted and suspicious of anything that moves, they can be dangerous. But, like most wild animals, they avoid humans as much as possible.’
Travel alongside Ruskin Bond: through the familiar bustle of Landour Bazaar, along cedar-scented paths where laughter mingles with birdsong, to the high, sacred ridges where the majestic spire of Tungnath Temple touches the sky in reverence.
Steal glances at the ethereal blue umbrella, slip on the treacherous terrain of a glacier and breathe in the mystical mountain air, as you tread through stories alive with the rugged spirit of the mountains. Whether it is an encounter with the sharp eyes of an eagle or a long walk for Granny’s glasses, each tale is a journey into the heart of the Himalayas.
Pull up a chair, let the mists roll in, and lose yourself in the pages of Wandering through Landour…
